Crime reference number required before telco provider will call log. Also there are plenty of devices that will record the 2 way convirsation at a very cheap price. Record and take to the local cop shop. If he feels that his life and others are in danger demand police assitance.

Best way to get tyhe Police interested is to tell them the guy has commited a traffic offence..

hi mr happy,

by triangulation yes they can, but it depends on the density of transponders, so if the caller is in a rural area thers's less chance of an accurate position 'fix'. the monitor would have to be in 'active' mode, but then all they have to say is it was a prank by a minor.

A member of family was threatened over the phone, the idiots left a voice message and the police up here reacted straight away.

we had a problem with this at our office someone kept phoning the receptionist and making sexual comments. again the police couldnt do alot but i remember that bt did do somthing with the line and the calls stopped now i know we did'nt block withheld duew to the fact it was a business line so i would say contact bt and try to give them a time of the call.

recorders are very cheap and available from maplins most stores carry them in stock and we have used them for a high profile customer who had some very serious threats again this is only to give the police an idea of what is happening

mobile phones can be traced as long as it is switched on our local mountain rescue teams use it to find missing persons and is very effective

while we are being tongue in cheek, why not divert all calls to the local curry house, just for a little while, bet they sharp get sick then :P did this with a 'x ' who kepted phoning my mobile, next time i seen her, she was very big.

serious dave, you need to push the police to act... i agree bt could just simply block the call, but then what will this nutter do next. they need to be caught. Ian Cant is correct, the police up here are very hot on this sort of thing.
