Guest European Alarms
Hi, I'm Andy, I manage and run EASS a small security company in the South of France, we have been looking after properties down here since 1996. We mainly install intrusion alarms for villas, and apartments. My main interest is keeping up with the new European rules, in English! I Look forward to a closer interaction with many of you. A bientot, Andy Hi Andy, Didn't you used to be called Valbonne Alarms?? Anyway, I used to work for a firm doing maritime security - we had a few clients in your neck of the woods! In 2003 I spend most of the year around the area doing some yacht stuff but also villas!! I miss it down there! Anyway, we should chat.. Guest European Alarms
Well thanks for that warm welcome, I'm a displaced Brit, thats been here for too many years.... I am pretty fluent in the local lingo, but at the end of the day these things are sooo much easier in the mother tongue. Ronnie, Valbonne Security was another company that has since gone bust and been renamed Azur Security, with a new owner. I hope you enjoyed your time down here it is a lovely part of the world. We have a few yachts that we look after but the majority of our work is villa's and apartments. This year has been really bad with lots of breakins whilst people are in the property, sometimes with the use of sleeping gas, to knock them, and / or their dogs out. Guest European Alarms
Hi James, If you are expecting any prep work to be done assume, that it has not been finished. The list of challenges down here could be quite long, but if you are installing into a villa, that is not being renovated, it should be no different to the UK, hopefully the initial survbey revealed any big problems. Most phone lines here are in a nice France Telecom box close to the entrance of the property, and are thus the first thing to be taken out before the bad guys even go over a wall! Yep we sell a lot of GSM backups. If you have anything specific or just want to meet up for a jar when you are here PM me. Ciao, Andy
Guest ALSEC
James, Correct me if I'm wrong Andy, but alarm cabling should be installed inside green flexible conduit inside the wall cavity.. Ronnie
Guest European Alarms
The coloured conduit I have only ever seen on runs from the perimeter to the property. Within the house everything seems to be in grey conduit. But as I said if you're expecting it to be run already you might be in for a suprise..... Contact me via email if you want to meet up as I don't read the forum all the time. Ciao, Andy
