whistle Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 We did a take over from hell today. this customer had an upgrade from a 9600 to an Avanti ( i think ) in march this year and got charged over 800 quid + vat for the works. The customer wanted had problems with the install and the price so ended the maintenance and came over to us. The custromer wanted a new panal as was not impressed with the avanti so we quoted a galaxy. We got the go ahead and i priced the job up thinking well its a local NSI gold company that did the work so i should be an easy panel change. Oh how wrong I have never seen anything like it. This is the work if a nis gold company, the JB had no lid and wa stuffed under some boxes in the loft. 40% of the protection was not even on the system. Makes you wonder.
Nova-Security Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Thats nothing, in fact its neat compared to what we have seen www.nova-security.co.uk www.nsiapproved.co.uk No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.
xx badwolf xx Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 This is a shame is in your view the normal for this company or is it just a bad engineer. i spend time on the call out rota and do service to try and do spot checks on my companies work. I would be with my self if i ever come accross that type of install Mark Smith, Director, S M Fire & Security Ltd, Bradford

If this is who I think it is (I'm 90% sure) then the MD of that particular company won't give a toss about the **** that his engineers are installing... and I've seen even worse than the install whistle has posted pics of. I won't go into detail in the public forums. Trade Member
xx badwolf xx Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 in that case report them to the NSI companies like taht do the industry no good what so ever Mark Smith, Director, S M Fire & Security Ltd, Bradford
Guest Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 in that case report them to the NSI companies like taht do the industry no good what so ever has to come from the sub......
xx badwolf xx Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 things need to change then sub is not going to complain as they have voted with there feet and moved business to another company but in the meantime poor installers go on with poor systems. I have a SSAIB forum to go to this month and think i will ask the question about this. i thought UKAS where trying to stamp this sort of thing out Mark Smith, Director, S M Fire & Security Ltd, Bradford
Guest Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 sub is not going to complain as they have voted with there feet the sub was mug enough to pay 800 note for new controls, one hopes the shodiness would be corrected by service
xx badwolf xx Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 UKAS wont do anything, NSI or SSAIB should. But one thing to note, and im not saying its ok butg nowhere in bs or en does it state how tidy a panel should be. The jb lid is a diffrent matter but you dont know for sure that it was never fitted do you? PLus it was a takover so ik assume not installed originally by the company before you. Also after speaking to the sub you might have thought there would be issues. If they were 100% happy why would they speak to you. We must all remeber when we judge a takover that we usually only see the bad ones. No-one really looses a happy customer i understand where you are coming from with the installer i have been told that UKAS are instructing the inspectorates to be tougher with it members. and im sure the inspector could pick fault with somthing in that panel Mark Smith, Director, S M Fire & Security Ltd, Bradford
