hi all

i am currently undertaking some renovation work to our house but find tha t when i isolate upstairs circuit or turn off elec supply the alarm activates.

it is a veritas alarm (oldish, i think poss 8c from looking at other threads but there are no markings save the veritas name).

i have set alarm to unset prior to switching off power but alarm still triggers.

is there a way to avoid activating alarm while i update some electrics?

if not does anyone have a recommendation for a service engineer in newcastle upon tyne area

all help/replies gratefully received and i apologise if this is a dumb question but you were warned in the title

thanks

There is/should be a back-up battery in the panel, either it is missing, faulty, or a fuse has gone, if it was faulty it could have damaged the panel - time for an engineer Im affraid to check it out properly.

Regards, Dave.

I have to agree sounds like either a fuse or a faulty stand by battery(assuming you have one fitted that is?????????????) :fear:
