Paul P Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 This is our 1st week over here and must admit it is not quite what I expected bloody cold at night, the aussies we have met so far seem to be friendly but this area is a bit like little England. They recon 30% of the population is British. With regards the driving I must be going a bit slow as we are always being overtaken, there are speed cameras everywhere hidden ones mainly so it pays to keep under the speed limit, especially on public holidays where it is double demerit points. I notice they have a rule for everything, wheelie bins for example, put them out by the kerb one meter from the edge of the road not less than 0.5 meter apart with the wheels facing the property and not under a tree or near a car. I suppose it is when in Rome do as the Romans, if the UK adopted the same attitude to immigrants it would be a better place Trade Member
