UKflyer Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 forum reaches new low I think we'll bring this to a conclusion chaps ..... Yes there is a 3-way 'Euro Type' fused terminal block, BUT on the control panel side only the live and neutral are wired .... ie no earth to the transformer Hence I have connected the mains earth to what amounts to a spare terminal ....... PHEW!!
Guest Dave the alarm man Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hence I have connected the mains earth to what amounts to a spare terminal ....... PHEW!! I'am thinking wally................... you bother with a cpc on the flex? or the FCU? you got FCU?
amateurandy Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I'am thinking wally................... WTF? FCU CPC TLA? Wally's use TLA's, or to try to show they know something you don't. Please explain in English for everyone's benefit. (TLA = Three Letter Acronym. )

(TLA = Three Letter Acronym. ) dumbing down it for the numpties I'am thinking wally...................you bother with a cpc on the flex? used 2092Y or 2093Y or the FCU? could you be bothered to connect an earth incoming or exiting the FCU you got FCU? Fused Connection Unit? switched / unswitch fuse value cable size? okay for the randy amateurs?
amateurandy Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 dumbing down it for the numpties Says it all really... So what is CPC then in your language? And for the record, as you couldn't be bothered to explain, 2092Y and 2093Y are 2-core and 3-core PVC flex (circular heat-resistant to BS6141).

Circuit Protection Conductor And for the record, as you couldn't be bothered to explain, 2092Y and 2093Y are 2-core and 3-core PVC flex (circular heat-resistant to BS6141). fallen into my trap you've had to google for that add 100 & you get bog standard round flex
Guest anguscanplay Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Circuit Protection Conductorfallen into my trap you've had to google for that add 100 & you get bog standard round flex so if he had connected the earth ( as we all agree we should ) where did the " spare " terminal come from hmmm ?
amateurandy Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 fallen into my trap I thought the idea here was to help the original poster, which is what I was trying to do. Childish games hardly contribute do they?
