Guest logical001 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Pulse count. Just installed a Rokonet Comos PET Detector. All works fine after some laughable antics. Picture assisted cat skiding across kitchen floor. My only question is to do with the pulse count jumper setting. Exactly what does this do? My guess is increase the Microwave pulse to reduce alerts? J.
djrock Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Hello, I think the pulse counter is for the pyro sensor (motion sensor). It determines how many pulses it receives before it generates an alarm condition. djrock
arfur mo Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 best to play safe, attach said cat to ceiling with industrial blue tack, don't forget the tail/s the microwave has a 'pot' for range, you need to carfully adjust this not to be either to sensative or under sensative, it should reach the farthest point of the needed area of protection. using the pulse count will assist in reducing false alarms, but i would avoid and only use it if there is a subsequent problem, especially as this detector is being configered as a 'pet' detector. remmember, both micro wave and pir detector have to trigger before an alarm condition will occur, placing the link on 2 or 3 pulses effectively makes both have the same pulse count so conciderably reducing the 'catch' ability of the unit. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
norman Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Pulse count will 'slow down' the PIR thus; Pulse count 1, Trips on first activation, if the DT is set up correctly and is suitable for the surroundings/environment then this is the one to use. Pulse count 2, on the first activation this initiates an internal timer in the DT, upon a further activation in the predetermined (non adjustable) time window the detector will trip. Pulse count 3, as above but will take an additional activation to trip, in my opinion 3 is too slow, and if required the DT needs looking at/setting up, or may be wrong for the environment. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Can you tell me how you connected the sensor wires to the inside of the panel. thanks
Rulland Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Depends on the panel-resistors, normally closed etc-need more input
