Guest sp1bob
I have had some cabled installed whilst I was having and extension built and am now at the stage of fitting the control panel, PIRs etc. Unfortunately some of the PIRs will have sight of windows (although not direct sunlight), is this going to be an issue for me and if you why and how can I get round the problem ? Incidentally none of the windows have curtains. Ta
ian.cant
You cant get round it unless you relocate the cable to a different position. It may/may not cause any problem your going to have to suck it and see!

Guest rjbsec
Dual-technology detector - normally PIR and microwave. However the PIR can still be compromised by say sunlight across glass but with the addition of the microwave technology it shouldn't cause an alarm. Guest sp1bob
Ah right, got you. I'm using Texecom Prestige QD Quad Element PIRs - gues I'll just have to give them a go as moving the cables isn't really an option (

Guest sp1bob
Whilst you are all in such a great mood, I realise I can't run alarm cables parallel with mains cables, but can I cross over mains cables at say 90 degrees without having any problems. Thanks again (hangs his head in shame)
Guest rjbsec
Shouldn't cause a problem if it's few and far between.
