Guest escort security Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 I am working for a company that has shops (please ignore my logon name) our installers instaled a new system 8 weeks ago, that had been attacked, first activation intruder was sent, but no confirmation, keyholing company attended site, reset blaming moving curtains, 40 mins later second intruder, no confirmation this time some scrot entered via the back door, booted the upstaires office door open and emptied it. My question: the alarm company say it was a faulty DIGI only the confirm channel was broken ??????, has any one elese had this, its a CSL one if that makes sence. I think they programmed it wrong or left the link out, I have requested the entire log from both panel and central station, but am still waiting, also requested ESN number of the faulty DIGI still waiting.....................................am i being to suspicious.?
morph Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 If you/alarm company have access to a scantronic Eprom programmer you will be able to check the programming of the chip. We have used a lot of CSL digi's in the past and never had a faulty one. I would also talk to CSL about it as there equipment is very reliable and I would reckon they would test it for you. Most importantly if you have doubts about who is to blame have the digi changed and keep it to have it independantly checked, but make sure the alarm company when taking it out dont change the chip ask them to fit a new one. Theres a link to CSL on the alarm links page. Colin.
Guest Adrian Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 B) What panel is it? also think of this was the confirmed programed on the outputs on the panel if not then it won't matter what was set up on the coms side. Not a nice situation for anyone, did the intruder trip 2 sensors to get the confirmed signal in the 1st place? Adrian
Guest escort security Posted February 1, 2004 Posted February 1, 2004 Intruder tripped about 4 sensors, I am waiting for the ESN and the cenral station printout, but its not very forthcoming, Again I think thet have cocked up but unless i have absolute proof i am stuffed, oh and on top of all this they programmed a code for our keyholders, I understand thats thats agains DD regs. This highlights a common problem, As IT/Security manager our company has an advantage of someone having a clue to whats going on, other companies without this are in the hands of some very dodgy installers (as well as some good ones) I am glad im out of the industry ITS GONE MAD ! panel is a TS6** i think?
morph Posted February 1, 2004 Posted February 1, 2004 Both the alarm company and the arc will be approved by either the NSI or the SSAIB. They both have a complaints procedure and this would be an impartial way of getting the fault investigated if the ARC/Alarm Co are not forthcomming with the information you require. The links are on the sites Alarm Links Page. Colin.
Guest escort security Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 They have now admited to only having fitted a digicom on site, should I have a real go at them ?
morph Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 I think the answers obvious and you dont need the forum to tell you what to do next. Colin.
