Guest krissa Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Hi, we have lived in our house for over 10 years now and have never had to use the alarm. The person we bought the house off left us with the code but we lost it many moons ago. The electric went off this morning and the alarm went off. I tried putting in what i thought was the code but it didnt turn it off. The external alarm has stopped now but the internal one is still ringing. I do now know who installed the alarm and i need to change the code on the one we have but without knowing the original code is there a way around this. Unfortunately we have not had to deal with this problem before as we never used the alarm. Very silly of us i know. Any help or advice would be great.
bellman Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 The backup battery has died, It should be changed every 5 years. You will need the services of an engineer to reset and reprogram it for you. Post your location, somebody may be able to help. Guest krissa Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I hope so cause the noise is doing my head in. I spoke to an engineer who can come out tomorrow but he doesnt know the engineering code? to turn off the alarm and reset the number without us knowing what the original number was. Dont know if that makes sense.
