Hi guys,

I have been offered (new boxed with instructions and installation manuals) either a Scantronics 9750 or a 9800+. I would like to install the kit myself, or at least attemp to do so.

I have checked the Scantronics web site and they no longer mention the 9750 but refer to the 9751. Is there anything i should be aware of in respect to the 9750?

Was it discontinued for a reason? I do not want to buy a pup.

I know that the 9750 has wirefree caperbility but that aside which alarm would you go for. The 9750 or the 9800?

Great informative web site.

I have sifting through the pages for a while now and you offer a lot of assistance to a lot of people.

Thank you for any guidance you might afford me.

9750 was updated by a newer version the 9751, so simply its and improvement, if you have the choice as you say, I would go for the 9750 but the 9800+ is a very well proven panel to, essentially the 9750 has more features and is a newer fromula.

As far as wired/ wirless goes stick with wired( do a search on the forum for wireless alarms and see why)

If the system is only going to bells only or call a keyholder only then the above panels are okay but you will never be able to get a Police responce from the system if it is not proffessionally installed/maintained and you would need a newer version of the panel that complies with the current regulations.

Colin.

Hi Colin,

Thank you for the much valued comments.

I am sure once I start configuring the panel I will have a question or two more.

If that is the case if any one can help me again at that point i would be most gratefull.

Thanks again for your speedy reply.

Kevin.
