Guest Alarm Guard Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 where did you get it from & when? ... and that makes what difference to the problem? It's well out of any warranty before you suggest taking it back to the supplier. He was asking you because it could be that the panel was made around the time that the programming changed
Guest Lee Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 The installation manual says... page 20, section 3.1 "The programming Menu can only be accessed when the control panel is unset. Enter your 4 digit Engineer code. Press PROG. All the zone lights will illuminate". The panel IS unset. I enter edited. All I get is one beep (error indication I guess) and no lights illuminate. So none of the following instructions for accessing the different menus has any effect. I can get in to user programming with user code edited, then 00. All zone light illuminate and all menu options work OK Code numbers edited out. Alarm Guard

Guest Lee Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Well thanks guys for all your input. I appreciate your help! I guess it must have just been divine inspiration that showed me how to programme the system when I first installed it... AND got all those nice features working just as I wanted them. Now WHERE did I put that Divine Inspiration manual?? Never mind, I'll look tomorrow... Byeeee
breff Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Another one thread wonder that doesnt like it when the replies are not what they want to hear!!! The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Guest Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I'am sure all you diy monkeys know better than me........ unpleasant but often true
Guest Lee Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 I'am sure all you diy monkeys know better than me........ unpleasant but often true no... just unpleasant! Another one thread wonder that doesnt like it when the replies are not what they want to hear!!! I'm not surprised that you get so many "one thread wonders" with such helpful attitudes and manners. I wonder, have you (that's a collective you) ever tried just helping someone, without the sneering derision because they don't know as much about alarm systems as you obviously do? You should maybe try it one time. True, there's no monetary gain to be extracted, but it should make you feel good, when someone just says thanks! Then they go away thinking, "what a helpful guy/group". Incidentally, it seems from other posts I've read that your (security industry members) general attitude to outsiders is, what a dumb question or, corrr fancy not knowing that or, better get a 'proper' engineer in to sort that and don't remove the cover, you might hurt yourself with that nasty mains voltage. Anyway, it was just a simple question and despite the facts, one which you obviously cant answer, let alone in a reasonable manner. So I'll thank you once again for your time and leave you to your cosy little clique. I can live without final door set.
