Guest kwan Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I have a Scantronic 9449. It went off and I can't reset it. I had to disconnect the mains and the external siren. The problem may be caused by a faulty internal battery in the control panel. Can someone tell me how I can check whether is a faulty battery or a control panel? If there is a fault with the control panel, do you know if I can still buy the panel? I know it has been obsolete for a while. When the alarm went off, I cannot reset it as the remote keypad is dimmed and no response. So I had to open the control panel to disable. This has happened once a few months ago and I was able to reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery in the control panel. Thanks in advance.
kka Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 i suggest you try a new battery, same size as the old one. but depending on when you had it last serviced, it may well be recommended. depending on the age of the panel, you may well need a new one, service will tell. but scannies are usually quite robust. cymruchris Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 scannies are usually quite robust. I can vouch for that - we have a number of them soldiering on - and they are donkeys years old... I'm surprised to be honest they've lasted so long...
