sparky999 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Hi just an internet warning. Watch out for E-mails claiming to be from Barclays Bank claiming to be upgrading their software and wanting you to urgently contact them confirming your bank details.Checked with Barclays and they are looking into it. Guest rjbsec Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Been happening for years - NEVER give bank details or any personal details in such a way.
Guest Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Yep, no bank will ask you to send details/passwords over the net. I got one from the HSBC other day, never had an account with them in my life, passed on the senders details to them though, as much good as it will do.
Alarm Protection Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Get loads of them aswell the newest one being Lloyds TSB. Is it not folk from Nigeria sending these??? !
Guest RICHL Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Yes, just to clarify, its not actually the banks who are sending these!

Guest rjbsec Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 As well as all the usual rubbish, I have now started getting loads of E-mails with great chunks ot text like this one:So what the hell is all that about.... and why send it??? Paul It generally accompanies an image of the spam text so on lesser spam checkers it doesn't detect the text in the image but checks the "random" text and finds nothing that is "typical" spam so it allows it through. Prepare to see a major transfer to this type of spam which will plague the unprepared and many who think they are prepared!
