Guest steve49423 Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Hi all, I am new to this forum and know nothing about home security systems so please forgive me ignorance! I hoped you may be able to answer a question for me and put my mind to rest. I have moved into a house with a Gardtec alarm system (I think it is a Gardtec 800 series though I cant find and model numbers on the unit itself). I do have the security code but up till now I have not been using it - it is just left 'disarmed'. I have no manuals or contact numbers with the alarm so I feel a bit wary of it! My first question is, even though the alarm is currently disarmed, is there any way that the alarm could be triggered, like by some kind of malfuntion? If so, how would I get it to shut up? I have visions of it going off in the middle of the night and not being able to do anything about it! Secondly, are there any fitters/qualified engineers in my area that would be able to take a look at it and give it a clean bill of health should I decide to use it in the future? many thanks in advance...
