WatchdogSecurity Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Guys, ive moved off up the coax telemetry on my dome, and moved to rs485, now ive addressed the dome as 1, but on the Sprite 2, the serial telemety typr, wont let me change it, it just says non ? Why is this? Anyone shed any light on this ? Watchdog Security (Manchester)
james.wilson Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 you need to set your serial telemetry type in the setting before you apply a telemetry type to the head. While you can mix coax protocols per cam, you can only use 1 485 protocol, (or 2 i think on the new ones) James securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Anyway, ive set serial comms to BBV 485 is that right ? do i just set it in Serila one or do i need to also set it at each camera telemetry setting? Watchdog Security (Manchester)
james.wilson Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 if thats the right protocol for your dome (havnt got a 2060 manual with me) then yes, but you will also need to select the protocol for thae camera in the telemtry menu for that cam. You should have an additional one in the list now securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Make sure the baud rate of the port matches the dome - been caught on that one as well. Make sure the dome address number is the same as the camera number - yep been cuaght on that one as well! Dave

Is it a Digi Sprite or a systems sprite? Dave
WatchdogSecurity Posted October 29, 2006 Author Posted October 29, 2006 Is it a Digi Sprite or a systems sprite?Dave Its a Sprite 2 Plus DVR Watchdog Security (Manchester)
Guest Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Its a Sprite 2 Plus DVR On the back you have 4 serial ports. One of them will be for BBV by default. If you go System options, one of the settings is Serial and Telemetry ports edit. Here you set required telemetry protocol and baud rate for port. Make sure you fit TX on sprite to RX on dome. Dave
james.wilson Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Brand new? if its new the data wires of bus A. I have never uses a 2060 in 485 mode on a sprite, but there are different addresses for different protocols, ie 101 is pelco or something like that check you dome addendum. You will have to have the correct protocol set in the dome that matches the sprite. Aslo the baud rate is done for you. Might be worth shutting the sprite down properly though after chnages as i think it sets the serial port up at boot. (shutdown properly mind) securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
