Guest Dan Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Hello, We had a power cut just the other day and my Veritas alarm control panel just froze up with all the tamper LEDs lit red. I was told that it might be the back up battery so I replaced this as well as the 5x fuses on the main switch board. After doing this all the tamper lights except one went out, however the control panel still isn't working. Can anybody help? or should I call in a professional? Many Thanks in advance Dan

Many Thanks in advance Dan Dan Try pressing the button marked Reset. if this doesn't work try down powering the system and power it back up (Be very careful as mains voltage is present within the panel). If the control panel comes back to life, great. If not time to get your local alarm company out. Dave
Deltaseven Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 If you have replaced the battery - thats a good start. It is possible that the unit is set up for engineer restore on tamper - in which case you will need an engineer. It may just require a re-boot - downpoeering battery and mains then re-powering. Be Very Careful - mains voltages can kill. If you are not competent to deal with mains voltages do NOT try to downpower the panel - call a pro.
james.wilson Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 be very careful with the above and if your not competant, you may do yourself or your equipemment serious damage securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Guest Alarm Guard Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Be even more careful..... because with Veritas panels it is possible to default it to factory settings without knowing, and then various facilities may not work as expected. It probably has been programmed for engineer reset on tamper, as dictated by the current regulations, so the best advise is to call an engineer .... and preferably the company who installed the alarm because they will know the system.

Guest Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 veritas is a G1 panel isnt it. Dont need tamper on a g1 lol Not going there. Put your fishing rod away Mr Wilson. Dave
