bellman Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I wish these alarm Manufacturers would build boards with independant psu units so they can be swapped out instead of all this messing around. Err, the galaxy and several others have. Cheaper to make a combined board though. Disconnect everything that draws power from the panel (everything connected to aux and the SAB + RKP) and measure the voltage, if it's still that low the panel is faulty. Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.

Regards Bellman Maybe why Galaxy have gone to a combined MPCB/PSU in the new flagship G3 then? Or am I talking through my rear end? Don't fit enough of them to jump on my soap box but I am sure they don't have a seperate PSU anymore. Dave
bellman Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Your quite right Dave, Bless huge conglomerates and their bean counters. Note I said Galaxy not G3. Strange thing is though they have seperated them on the New power RIO's I can imagine the excitement on some spotty bean counters face in honeywells accounting dept as they realise they could shave Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
breff Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 You've only got 4 PIRs and a current draw of almost 1 amp, somethings not right there! The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Guest Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 kat21 last time you where here you gave us a load of grief about a speech dialer if I recall right? leading to you topic getting deleted?? I wish these alarm Manufacturers would build boards with independant psu units so they can be swapped out instead of all this messing around. there nothing wrong with your controls and to be honest there not really worth repairing any way........ given the cost of a new one You've only got 4 PIRs and a current draw of almost 1 amp, somethings not right there! QFA....... if its quiescent

bellman Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 On a new panel and without checking basics first. Of course not, Just because it's new doesn't mean it's not faulty though Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
