Guest RICHL Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 I think iD wiring is great. Nice and easy, quicker to install than double pole and as secure as EOL. But its been around for a few years now and apart from the accenta ideal has not really filtered down to the domestic type panels. Anybody know why?
Guest Adrian Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 B) Have you looked at Menviers TS690ID panel you get the 30 ID zones plus you have a further 2 zones of EOL or DP per keypad in total 38 zones, An added bonus on the LCD RKPs there is a 16 ohm speaker output as well. I agree it can be a little on the pricey side. I have one in my home and love it my only wish is that it would take a shunt lock. (I use one on my garage) for that I will need to upgrade. Try Gardiner security for a price. Adrian B)
Guest Samholland Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 One thing i would say about ID (biscuit) systems is when installing cable is double up on the cores. This reduces cable resistance that can cause spurious tampers. Menvier recommend no more that 7 biscuits on a 50meter cable run on the standard alarm cable..Not many if you plan to do up to 30!!!! I have had faulty biscuits on systems and had to isolate many before finding the correct biscuit..
