Guest Sparks Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I have a TS2500. I am trying to set my workshop as high security, so it will auto set once the door is closed. The workshop is set as ward B, and I have set Ward B as high security in engineers menu 4. The workshop currently comprises of an exit/enty zone (Contact on the door) and a PIR The problem is, the ward keeps setting even though there is activity on the ward. The manual states.. "Hi Security time This timer sets the duration in which a

Guest Sparks Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 The door just has a hasp an padlock on, so lock set isn't an option. The it would be impossible for the door to swing shut and stay shut for the duration of the High Security Timer (I was going to set this to 10 minutes), so this isn't a problem!
Guest Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Your missing the point, your asking the system to do something its not designed to do. Assuming there is a RKP in the garage, you open the door and unset. Then spend 9.5 mins in the garage, it then tries to auto set. It wont because the door is open. Do you think it will wait till you have finished your beer and porno mag Auto sets don't work that way. What you are needing is a shunt lock to do the job you require.
Guest Sparks Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I realise this, but the timer should be resetting it's self whenever there is activity in the workshop, if I dance about inside with the door open or closed, the timer is not getting reset, so it tries to auto set! - this is the problem. ...maybe I will change the lock, and make it lock set then!

Have you made ward B deferred set? that will do it for you 1-6-B-5 try that
Guest rjbsec Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 You just need a shunt switch - could be an external switchbox, shunts the high security zones in and out as required.

Guest rjbsec Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Well i did assume the door had a lock on it, but it seems we agree RJ Use that on things like hospital pharmacy areas - mortice lock with micro, unaffected by the requirements of any other areas of the hospital alarm.
Guest Sparks Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Have you made ward B deferred set?that will do it for you 1-6-B-5 try that Thanks - unfoutunatly thatis doesnt seem to do what I want - I set the ward to derered set and also high security, then walked out of the area, but left the door open - it still started to set! I think I will have to change to a lock set arrangement! I do have another question - I have installed a light sensor in my bell box (Because it was convenient to put it here) and connected it to one of my zones - I have set one of the cusom outputs in the following confog.. 1 = off - 2 = off - 3 = off - 4 = off - 5 = Mimic 1006 (Light sensor) - 6 = Time switch 1 - 7 = ON - 8 = ON Time switch 1 is set to turn on at 13:00 and off at 00:00 I will then connect various exterior lights to various outputs, so they will come on at dusk and turn off at midnight. I will connect a relay to the outputs (on XNodes) - I assume I have to use a diode across the coil so I dont blow the output? --- Another question, I am after some 12v smoke, heat and a CO detectors to add to my system - any ideas on a supplier that will sell to "joe public" - Thanks!!
