sparky83
Sounds like you need to just reset your panel to the normal day mode ie get rid of the activation message. If you read the manual for your sounder it will say that the strobe will flash rapidly when the alarm activates and then if it continues to be triggered after a set time rather than flash rapidly and consume lots of energy it will flash roughly every 15 seconds. You have a 0V to the strobe trigger thats why that is flashing, but in normal 'day mode' you shouldnt get this it is used to indicate that your alarm has activated during the time it has been set. Hope this helps Trade Member
yeahdisk
Thanks for the advice everybody... My panel is definately reset to normal day operation so I'm going to have to try the SCB Jumper option. Can you confirm that it is simply a case of invoking hold-off mode, adjusting the Jumper, and reclosing the box? I mean, there isn't a way to do this with a jumper in the control panel? Thanks, Chris.

Thanks, Chris. Shouldn't need link to SCB if it's SAB - needs further investigation to find the reason for the problem not just doing something that you can't explain the reason for. Should there be an additional resistor fitted in the bellbox?
yeahdisk
Having just re-read the manual I can confirm there should be no extra resistance in the connections... I have it wired up as per the manual: A----(red)----A +12V B----(blue)----B -ve Bell C----(yellow)----C -ve Tamp D----(black)----D 0V S----(green)----S -ve Strobe Any other ideas? Faulty Box perhaps? (although I hope not!) Chris.

yeahdisk
Yes I do - I'll do it in the morning. Any ideas what kind of Voltage I should be expecting at the STRB connection? (or should I be measuring something different?)

(or should I be measuring something different?) Remove the connection to the strobe output at the panel and measure between +12v and -Ve strobe (at the panel) and see if you have 12-14volts; if you do then your panel is sending -Ve to the strobe when it shouldn't. If you don't have a voltage there then the problem is with the belbox.
breff
Also check for 0v on the cable you remove from the strobe terminal at the panel, you may have a short on the strobe trigger cable. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
