Neutech Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Just my 2p's worth Look along each end of the cable and you will find the start figure for the cable and the end figure at other end..........that'll give you the exact distance in Metres of your run. Good practice to write on the Cat5 box when you finish each job as to how long the run is,easy to work out the run lengths B)

Guest Stanley Engineer Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 you can have up to 100 metres between network hubs or ports. but you can only star off 10 metres from a network port, ie your router. if your router is over 10 metres from your dvr then this will cause problems.
