cashel electrics Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Hey everyone, I'm sure this question has been asked quite a few times but here goes. I'm currently looking for workwear for my company, polo shirts, coats, service shirts, fleeces that sort of thing, was hoping some of you could point me in the direction for a good supplier, i'd imagine its the sort of thing that the amount of money your willing to spend depends on the quality of the item. Any help on this matter would be great. Many thanks www.cashel-electrics.co.uk

The problem is you can only claim the VAT back on workwear if it's got a logo on it or specialised. Eg trade trousers no problem, polo wih logo, no problem. Polo Shirt without logo, legally not vat reclaimable.... or so my accountant told me. Dave
norman Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Get some velcro logo's. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Get some velcro logo's. If you bought them from the same source with velcro logos, I guess this would work. Not like you to try and bend the rules Norm But if you bought plain polos then these would have to include VAT. You would get the VAT back on your logos though. Been informed by my accountant this includes the cost as a business expense for tax purposes as well. Dave

Guest Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 thanks for the info dave, i never knew about the vat on workwear, this is a really useful site. to everyone else for their commentsPatrick It makes sense. Our Polo Shirts are well smart without a logo (and www.phelpssystems.com screen printed on back), I would hapily wear to the pub. With logo's you give the just come fom work and the car is outside look. Dave
