paranoid, no arfur what you have is part paranio mate!

grooming?

full details for a breakin.

Now correct me if i wrong here but i though we were talking someting oalong the lines of

"Hello Secure It All, James Speaking"

"Hi id like to speak to someone about my alarm"

"Im sorry but Phil is on the phone can i get him to call you back?"

"Yeah sure my number is xxxxx"

not "what are you wearing, how olds the kids" etc etc

lol

James

hi james,

it never ceases to amaze me what details some people will give out to a total stranger, in a panic with bells ringing they are more concerned to get the noise stopped than anything else.

i have had clients kids phone me because a pab got pressed by a curious freind, mum and dad are away, and grandma has messed up the alarm, "i don't understand this new fangled stuff" or only speaks Indian perhaps, so the kid's a syounge as 4 phone's for help and acts as translator, due to this the conversation can be extented perhaps while gran is off to find the contract number, thats one scenario as an example i'm concerned about.

a scumbag skilled 'groomer' can soon turn this initial contact to his/her advantage, "ok my little dear don't worry i will soon sort this out for you, how do you like your school uniform? what class are you in? i'll get the nice man to call you from the alarm company, but meanwhile if you have any other worries please call me on this personal number or here is my personal email" its a slight risk perhaps but still a very real one from these gutter life slime.

how do i know how they work? my neighbours daughter was a victim!

the operator might even be a kiddy fiddler or groomer, alarm activated kid phones alarm company asking what to do, addres happens to be local to the service ofice's.
"What are the chances of that"

Come on, I mean WTF.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Your neighbours daughter reported the alarm going off and the person that took the call groomed her, gave her his email address and personal phone number?

I'm with Norman and Harry on this one.

Rich,

you have really got to read what i actually wrote and in context, not add in your own interpretations please

i said (in a seperate paragraph) my neighbours daughter was a victim of a 'groomer', nothing to do with alarms or answer services. she answered an incomming call from a sopposed tellesales person 'hello, before i speak to mummy or daddy what is you name then, you sound a really nice girl, bet your parents are proud of you? ------ you have won blah blah give me your address, my name is Sam' not doing the whole sickening story as it boils my blood, and i might go out and murder the sicko.

thats why i say i have seen a groomer at work and how they operate

so back to the point, i also said it was a slim chance, but a real risk, you may not agree but personally i'm taking no such chances, especially for what i see a small gain if any. many have to wake up a bit more if kids are going to have a greater chance of being safer imo.

:hmm: i'm asking how i or anyone else for that matter, can be sure yours or any other service don't.

can you, have you or will you vet for CRO your answering service or see if they have (by 'yours' i mean the one you use but not own)?.

i'm not having a pop Dave, this is a genuine concern of mine, if i were a pedo there is nothing to stop me operating an answering service as far as i know, and worse employing staff from the same slim gutter with the same mind set, and get paid while we perve.

when people say that will never happen imo they have just stopped being watchful, and this allows miscreants a crack to get in through.
