Guest bbb Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 i recently had to switch off mains power to my house. at the point of switching off, my alarm sounded for a minute, then went off. after returning power to the house (around 30 minutes later) i noticed that the TS690 alarm panel in my hall was now blank (no text) however the green light was on indicating it was recieving power and the backlight to the LCD display was lit. has anyone an idea what might be the problem? im stuck now with the external alarm box blue light flashing as i cannot use the panel to reset the alarm. any things to try would be most welcome (to either get the ts690 panel back working, or get my external blue light to stop flashing) thanks in advance. db ps, i just remembered that prior to the mains power being switched off, i had previously done the same thing (a few months earlier turning mains power off) and the panel reverted to saying 'requires remote reset - call your engineer' - i hadnt (as we dont use the alarm much apart from long periods away) has the alarm being in that state and then power being removed perhaps put it into a new (dead) state?? pps, i have the manual but no details of original installer, im based in sheffield if a local installer is the only option to recover.

Guest 9651 Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 yep battery will be dead in the control panel.....also i'd advise a check over, the bell should sound for 20mins under its own duress if the battery is healthy.... also sounds if the system is/or has been set up for engineer resets
