Guest janski Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 We have a Securit 700l alarm. We recently got two cats - I assume (maybe wrongly) that they will set the IR sensors off. I know naff all about alarms but I have the manuals and engineers code. I have tried following the manual but when I tried to disable one of the zones I ended up setting the chime to ON! I want to disable to all sensors except the doors. Please can someone help! Thanks j.
FASTCAR Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Hi , Example , to omit zone 4 , enter your user code , press "*" (star key) then press 4 within 3 seconds. (zone 4 should flash), alarm should set. regards.
Guest janski Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Fastcar, Thanks for offering some help, please bear with me if I ask stupid questions! Have tried your suggestion to no avail. Can I check by user code you mean the 'engineer code' not the 'user' alarm set code. I've tried both and it don't work. According to my manual when the engineer code is entered the mains led should flash (it doesn't) although the exit buzzer starts ringing. Does this mean the manual is wrong or that the engineer code has been altered perhaps? As it appears to set the alarm. I look forward to you setting me right! j.
Guest janski Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Paul, Thanks for advice re alarm but... The alarm is not in use currently due to cats setting off the PIRs. I can't mess the alarm up if it's not on!!! I would also systematically test the alarm to make sure it worked after doing any changes. When I enter the 'engineer code' the mains LED should flash (according to the manual) it doesn't. Why do you think this is? Is it a misprnt in the manual or could the 'engineer code' have already been altered by the previous owner/installer? If so how do you reset the engineer code (presumably removing power + battery backup)? (We do not know who installed the alarm). I'd be grateful of any anwers. j.
james.wilson Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 janski you can mess it up whether its on or not. Also how do you plan on testing it whan your not sure what your doing? depending on who installed your system, i understand you dont know, they may or may not have chnaged the code. I would strongly advise it was due to the security implications (ie someone disabling stuff without your knowledge) I think you need to get someone in. And we cannot give you advice on how to reset your panel programming James securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
