I would quote "Vandal Resistant". i.e. - It will resist, but in the end, it might not survive ! ARJ A nearly retired previous installer !
Alpat Systems Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I completed an install with 4 day/night vandal domes. Due to the structure of the building most had to be installed around 2 metres high, we took the decision to use cages as well due to problems the client had experienced in the past. Two weeks after finishing the install I received a call asking me to come and replace one of the domes. Turned up to the site to find the cage bent into all shapes, the domes lens slightly cracked, and covered in paint. I watched the DVR's recording and witnessed 2 guys belting the cage and dome with a hammer, and what looked like an iron bar. Anyway removed the cage and dome cover to find the camera intact and working fine. Sourced a new dome cover and cage and got everything back up and running. Heard back from the client a few days after to say the police had picked up the 2 guys

Guest Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Norbain quote their vandal domes able to withstand the blow from a sledgehammer. Dave
akpak Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I think that, in most cases, if somebody really want to do some damage then they will - hopefully they will be caught on video first!! Alan http://www.pakatak.co.uk
hullofaplace Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 VANDAL PROOF that reminds me of a school they built round the corner from me, It was advertised as a VANDAL PROOF school-so what happens all the vandals targeted it and its a hole now, anouncing its vandal proof in the local paper was just inviting the local scum to have a go at it
baywatch Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 As witnessed above there is no such thing as "vandal proof" only needs a kid with a spray can & its vandalised.
