Guest Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Just played with that and got shocking results, went on to other sites and saw the speeds i expected, even lied about the bandwidth i was on and the results came back as expected. I pay for 8 meg but always seem to get 6, which is expected as you would assume the distance i live from the exchange. You also have to remember the speed quoted is optimal, the more users on line the slower it becomes. And what have you running in the background? Good post though Dave, made me actually think of checking. But i have a readout every time i log in anyway.

Guest Alarm Guard Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 and here is the result. I am now using just the free talktalk broadband.. It is slightly slower than BT... but a lot cheaper. One weird thing. The SpeedNet test thought I was in the Liverpool area. Perhaps with talktalk I am being routed through there??? Some people complain about talktalk, but my experience is very good. I needed to get settings for my router, so I phoned them and they gave me the settings. No fuss .... and it worked first time.
