Domestic doors and locks still vary, could be metal, wood, plastic, multiple locks, locking system, single latch......... I think you assume too much at times, and have a wonderful imagination that needs an outlet, somewhere else.

I think half the problem is, in general, I don't understand what the hell you're on about. Sometimes what you write looks pretty clear (well, occasionally) but you mean something entirely different. Must be a generation gap issue. There's also the fact that you and the internet don't seem to be 'at one' as yet.

arfur mo
Arfur... can I offer a solution.Whenever you post something, I could delete all the rubbish from it if you like... how would i know why anyone thinks its rubbish then? i do suffer from the fact that if i'm breif then we get all the silly 'what if's' as though i don't know them, so i try to be more full and informative and that gets more even dafter responses, i then address the dafter ones and they get even dafter in an attempt o show i'm the daft one - i don't mind as they fail miserably. Lurch says he don't understand anything i say, well if thats really true then his trade status should be reviewed, as he comprehends far less than most DIY members, but then he is/was a sparks so i have some compassion and understanding so patience for him. so unless i get the same powers - no you can't and your just trying to save dave some HD space aren't you regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! Guest
I have rennovated my house from top to bottom: including ............electrics etc PS: I will be the first to call a professional when it all goes horribly wrong! chances are a "proper" firm won't touch anything you've installed with a barge pole
Guest G.J.M
chances are a "proper" firm won't touch anything you've installed with a barge pole i never read the part about the electrics and plumbing. Oh dear....Sorry Peter i take it back big time. I should take more time in reading posts. It's slightly worrying that the DIYer is asking if the cable needs to be stripped when he has already rewired his house. Sorry but i won't be buying your house when it comes on the market.
