Guest PeteGBR
Does anybody out there know which links to cut on a 2 year old CQR optima siren to allow it to go of for longer than 5 seconds. There appear to be 4 links which I guess give different timings for the bell.
Guest RICHL
Do you mean Cequra?
Guest PeteGBR
No - It must be Ultima and I mis-read it on the PCB. The guts are probably the same though. I got called out to reprogram a system and this is the only thing I couldn't sort. The person that Installed it obviously didn't test the bell as it only goes off for 10 seconds. Guest PeteGBR
Thanks for the info. Why does this bell only go off for 10 seconds; Is the White wire some sort of hold off?
FASTCAR
White wire ? there's no mention of a white wire on my sheet , but its an old one.It could be sounder mode , sab/scb select, eng/test mode.I'm sure Linda (Affinity)will help you out when she's next online. Guest PeteGBR
You mentioned that it's got 4 links. The 4th one is White and away from the other 3. What does this one do as all these links are still in?
FASTCAR
Sounds likely that it could be a test ...cut it and see! you can always solder it back up. On the Cequra , the pcb is printed with the function of the link , and the test link is coloured black.
black knight
I could be wrong but i think the white wire was there to chose whether you wanted the LEDs to be on constant or flashing - they removed this feature in the PLUS version (as i found out when i fitted one recently!). either that or its the engineer test link. paul THE BLACK KNIGHT "Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company." j.paul
On the Ultima the link are: cut White for continous LEDs cut Black for 5min cut Black/Yellow for 10min cut Black/Yellow/Green for 20min If non of the links are cut the siren will cut off after about 5 seconds Regs jpaul There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.
