Thanks for all the quick responses.

First things first, battery added to the shopping list, I new I'd missed something!

I thought that I read that the quad PIRs were suitable for a conservatory and that was why I selected it. However advice taken and the order will be ammended.

Bell box changed from the 1e to the Texecom Odyssey 1 115db Bellbox.

I would be interested in a telephone dialer, do they replace the control panel or do you need both?

Purely in the interest of research(!!!) how easy is it to integrate a proximity reader into a domestic application such as this. I like the idea of a proximity reader if you are able to set and disable the alarm with a quick swipe of a key fob, but does it start to complicate things? Will I have a series of boxes mounted on the wall which will just confuse everyone that has to use the system?

Thanks again

you could fit a sd1 dialler, it calls you up or sends you a sms. a sd2 has a mic you can use to listen to crooks smashing up your house while you are on holiday, wonderfull. they both do more, its made by menvier.

I'll have a look into the dialers. I think that it will give an added piece of mind. Any other recommendations for dialers out there?

I was in Trade Deopt (B&Q) the other day and saw that they had a Yale wireless system with dialer for about

wired. wireless i owuld start a new topic but if you can wire everytime

re the yale thing, when they used a scantronic 500r it was pretty good for domestics but as that was too expensive for the market its not what it used to be. I think its better than the response stuff but i wouldnt use it. They should have stuck to locks

Nope. Even their locks are pretty poor compared to other ones.
