Guest Yanky Andy Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Hi Guys, I am looking for an excellent but reasonably priced system, upto 8 zones for a typical 2up 2down home, with and LCD RKP and Line Dial facility / autodialler. The prices seem similar with the Veritas being slightly more expensive, any thoughts on the best system with ease of programming to install? Your expertise much appreciated.
Guest MarkP Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 I'm certainly very happy with the Veritas Excel. It looks really good, is very easy to program (just scroll through the menu options) - although most of the factory defaults are all you would want anyway. What sort of dialler are you after adding on? The Texecom speech dialler is also very user friendly - it can send voice or SMS text messages to 8 different contact numbers, and also offers listen in / talk back mode. MarkP
Guest dale Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Like most things you get what you pay for and whilst Texecom might seem slightly more expensive for an autodialler it has lots of cool features like an LCD screen for easy programming and dial-in and listen features. As for an 8 zone LCD alarm, I recommend the Texecom Veritas Excel, or if you are willing to spend more money a premier 816 - although it aint easy to install unless you have a laptop, USB Com and a copy of WINTEX! Some people like the Sterling 10 from pyronix, but again you will still need to buy an autodialler seperately but it does have connections for an autodialler! Another good autodialler it the Pyronix Vocaliser, similar to the Texecom but without the LCD keypad for programming. Hope this helps D
Guest Yanky Andy Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Ok Guys, thanks:- so it looks like the general choice is the Veritas Excel, using a Texecom autodialler. I notice on the Texecom website there are two models, both of which are PC boards 'Premier Com300', and 'PremierISDN'......... Although Dale mentioned LCD Screen, so do Texecom do another autodialler that is not on their website?? I have a standard BT line, so will I only be able to use the Premier Com300? and that being the case will the PremierCom300 send SMS messages as well as speech? or do I need the ISDN model to send SMS? Also Mark mentioned listen in / talk back mode, is the mic and speaker built into the end station or seperate to the end station? Thanks, Andy.
Guest dale Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 The microphone is built into the Autodialler, the autodialler is slightly larger than a remote keypad but it aint massive, so you could put it near your telephone socket which is generally located in a fairly central place. Also the premier com 300 is for the premier control panels, the texecom speech dialler is a completely seperate unit. It might not be on there website I will have a look and get back to you. Dale
Guest dale Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Goto texe.com, click on new products and then click on new products summary. Its called a texecom speech dialler. Dale
