Guest north21 Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 When testing or acuating the Lynteck Universal bell box the sounders are very weak. The alarm system is a Accenta 6 about 5 years old. I have changed the 12 v 2 ah accenta internal battery with no change. The internal sounder operates normally. I the problem corroded or bad bell box connections? An low Bell Box battery? As accessing the Bell Box is difficult, can any member suggest solving a similar problem.
nikko Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 You could try reading the current by placing an ammeter in series with the bell trigger & the hold off voltage whilst the sounder is ringing. This will show if you have a current fault. You'll need to get the sounder current requirements from here: http://www.lynteck.co.uk/ If this is the case you should really look to swapping the sounder, but we may be able to cure the problem depending on your results. If you're not a technician, give us your general location & someone may be nearby. Nikko Stoke on Trent I went up into the attic...I found a Stradavarius & a Picasso. Unfortunately..... Stradavarius couldn't paint, and Picasso made a shocking fiddle. My Facebook page...http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=1279556853&ref=name
morph Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 If the sounder battery is low then this will also give a reduced sound output. I dont reckon you can escape getting up to the bell and checking it. Colin.
