I have a Veritas 8Compact system installed (approx 3 years ago) it's worked perfectly untill yesterday, we had a power cut the alarm went off but when we attempted to enter the code, the remote keypad would not work, it was still illuminated but as we entered the code instead of the normal tone beep produced by pressing a key, 'a flat dull beep' was produced irrespevtive of which key was entered. The alarm continued to ring for 20mins, stopped for 1 min then rang again for 20mins, did this 3 times in total, then stopped. There is only one remote keypad installed, I have never had the system serviced (didn't realise it needed it until I read this forum). Using the control panel I've reset the system, alarmed it, checked it and it appears to function fine, the only remaining problem is the remote keypad dosen't work, it's illuminated, but it's not possible to enter anything in with it, it only produces the 'flat dull beep' Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.
