KarenandLee Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Hi there I'm Karen. You'll have to excuse the lack of "security jargon" I have when explaining my problem. In my bedroom I have a little box with a red panic button underneath it. My twins decided to press it yesterday and now it is stuck pressed in, and my alarm panel downstairs is stuck on "attack". The previous owners of this house have not left any sort of key to release this button. Any ideas what I'm looking for and where can I buy one? Hope someone can help. Thanks Karen
BASS Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 if you can get me a picture of the panic button as there are diffrent types. I can send you a key we have loads from take over's
KarenandLee Posted January 14, 2007 Author Posted January 14, 2007 Our digi camera is not working well with our new computer, but I can describe it, if that helps. The box is approx 3 inches wide by 5 inches tall and about 1.5 inches out from the wall in depth. It does have one screw in the middle, so may try that tomorrow. It has 2 slots near the bottom of the front panel, the one on the left being a small red slit and the one beside it resembles a traditional keyhole shape on its side, with the circle part being on the left of the straight line part (If you know what I mean) Thanks so much for your replies. I'm amazed people have got back to me so soon. Karen
BASS Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 The single push (CQR) does take the metel key exactly like the pic james sent if you can send me your address I will post you one out next day post
BASS Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 They come as standard with the black plastic ones.... or they do in my area.. think we get them in black too not to sure. Don't touch the CQR single push only the Double push with the built led but the metal key fits the single push very generous BASS, very decent of you sir Why thank you sir. All part of the service.
KarenandLee Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 Thanks again everyone. BASS - I've sent you an email of my address. Karen

cathdiago Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Hi! I have the exact same problem as Karen did! The same panic alarm description, the same lack of jargon and the same problem with my alarm being in attack mode. Been looking for a key also but without luck. Any suggestions where I could find one would be much appreciated. Catherine

Catherine I would just say that although it is better to reset the PA button with a key if you can't wait it is relatively simple to remove th front of the button by undoing the screw on the front then reset the button by pushing the mechanismn back towards the button.
