Dsc864, Wrong Partition Number=>keypad Lockout

I have a 864-system, PC5020NA 3.2, LCD5500Z v3.1, Escort 5580TC v3.0 and a bunch of sensors hooked up to two partitions, one for the main house and one for the garage.

Well, coming home to an activated alarm I first need to select the partition to be de-activated, that is punching in * and the houses partition number. Some times I come home after a beer or two, or I'm just stressed and forgets to do it or something, meaning I'm trying to punch in the de-activation code immediately, when the panel still is in global mode. This results in a dark display (no backlight) telling me "Partition X unavailable" whereafter it locks up for a longer period==> the alarm goes off and wakes all my neighbours....

I've programmed the system to lockout after three failed attempts to enter the de-activation code. I don't want to remove this and I also believe that this is not the problem.

So, can I disable this "feature", that entering an erroneus partition number causes a keypad lockout - or whatever it is?

rather get one keypad per group than try to play with one global and choose between groups - a pro installer would have told you that beforehand..

have you got your electricity back already?

Well, with a litle help and testing it turned out to be easier than I would like to admit. I had programmed the keypad as a global one since I thought that assigning it to one partition would block me from reaching the other partition. That was wrong. Assigning it to my main partition gave the functionality I was looking for (defaults to the main partition) as well as being able to control other partitions when needed. So no need for one keypad per partition as you were recommending...

In the capital of Sweden ;-) we seldom experience electricity failures, not this time nor during the bigger hurricane that hit Sweden two years ago. Luckily...
