amateurandy Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Because every time i start i have to go into settings reset the date before it will start and have been told its that battery. You agree? It's one reason, but the CMOS batteries normally last quite a few years. How old is it? Whatever it is, it's definitely not a job for the average laptop user. PS I have a Dell laptop manufactured in June 1997 and still going strong!
Rich Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I repaired the DC in socket of the missus Toshiba, it took about an hour to take the laptop apart and find all the screws. It then took 2 hours to put it back together with half a dozen screws left over, and no obvious sign of where they went. If her laptop was worth keeping, I would have taken it to someone that repairs laptops. It now works fine, but she has taken a liking to my new laptop so has claimed that instead.
