mjw Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 You've missed the point. If you drive, at any speed, ad don't hit anyone then no-one's killed, so therefrore speed doesn't kill. Killing people kills people, speed doesn't. I'm not saying speeding is fine, and I'm not condoning it, I'm just saying, speed doesn't kill people, killing them does. And to add to lurches comments people DO DIE when hit by a car at 20 mph
Guest Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 America has a good idea, 15 mph in school zones............go faster and your in deep doo doo . Admittedly their I-ways are slower but they put commuter lanes in for car sharing. Bottom line is virtually no child deaths around schools.
buddyboy Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 i do agree that emergency services should be made to drive at the speed limit, my boy was taken seriously ill last year and he had to be taken up to london (im on the south coast), it took me 2 1/4 hours to get there, the ambulance did it in 45 min! yes my boy did get there quick and he was treated very fast but i dont think its fair to risk the lives of everyone else on the roads to save just one. at the spped the ambulance guy drove 1 slight mistake could have caused a crash that would have killed or seriously hurt alot of people. speed does kill, the only reason people say that it doesnt is because they want to justify the fact that they speed themselves. Rich Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Bringing the post back on topic I think we have established that the OP lost his licence due to speeding but with great help the law of averages, somethign that virtually all of us that do or have done excessive work mileage are in the risk of. IMO, this should in no way reflect on his ability to do the job, just getting to the job is obviously the problem.
