Adi Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Astra van here as well. I've got a 2005 1.7 CDTi sportive. has all the mod cons, power steering, electric windows, AC, remote central locking, alloys etc........., I have the vauxhall boot liner in it and rear window / bulk head guard. Due to the mileage I do, I had the rear side's soundproofed with dynamat as the road noise proved to be annoying on the motorway. Apart from that its been fantastic. Recently though I've actually considered swapping it for a SWB transit connect with side door as the astra sometimes is'nt big enough. The road noise is one of the few things i have against it, ok with the suped up radio system on but if ive got passengers or dont want music on it gets on me tits. Did dynamat do the job? I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
Guest Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 It seems that most (apart the odd one) have cheap nasty vans IE: Berlingo's!! These vans are total rubbish, they are meant for delivering flowers! Get a decent van, Our van VW Caddy 1.9PD TDI cost
Adi Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 ive got an astra van, its nice to drive the only downside for an installer is the space in the back. Its usually ok for me but if i need to load for a couple of jobs or more or if need intruder and fire gear and collect a deliver it gets annoying. One thing a did do is screw a few lenghts of guttering down one side for shelves. Its quick cheap and gets things off the floor. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

Guest Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 anything which grosses over 2 ton 60mph Ridiculous as it may sound, Caddy is limited to 60mph rather than 70mph on derestricted dual carriageways, and 50mph rather than 60mph on other derestricted roads. That's because at 2,235kg, it grosses above the 2,000kg limit. http://www.whatvan.co.uk/roadtest.asp?manu...amp;model=Caddy the old one grossed at 1770Kgs
mjw Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I think they mean by law they are restricted as they are classed as a goods vehicle.By the way I think it is a tad silly making a statement that you exceed the speed limit by a stupid ammount in a public forum Dave ALL vehicles with a gross payload from the 1 st january 2007 WILL BE LIMITED TO 60 MPH...thats is on the statute books and is being done
