Guest
ALL vehicles with a gross payload from the 1 st january 2007 WILL BE LIMITED TO 60 MPH...thats is on the statute books and is being done if I recall right it only for euro 3 engines the euro 4's will be except Our berlingo, caddy and trainspotter are all over 2TAlso you don't get away with "think the limit is 70, officer" - I have been done for exceeding 60 MPH on a dual cabbageway. heaviest 800LX gw is just under 2 ton,
Tilly
the berlingo is the worst van ive ever driven, when you go up the slightest hill buses overtake you. Have to agree, but now I've taken the heavy duty roof rack off, it does 20 more mph.. Oh, and the Berlingo/Partner is not a car derived van. The version that has seats and windows came after the van was designed..Its a goods vehicle... The only issue with Connects is that they are over 2000kg maximum gross weight, and as such are restricted to 50 mph on a single unrestricted carriageway and 60 on a dual... same as transit size vehicles.. You can still do 70 on a motorway... I can reliably state this as im a special as well for my sins, and a qualified speed laser operator..

Our Service Engineer got what he wanted......AstraMax Sportif. I thought it was very uncomfortable, but he has no issues........as yet. He still keeps the payload area in a state of disarray. Monty
Used to drive the astravan but it was to small and no side door! Still sitting in the works carpark with 127,000 miles on the clock and runs superb for short journeys!Drive a Connect now and the van is slow...1.9 and no turbo. Uses a lot of diesel compared to the astra but it is comfterable to drive and that side door is a gos send. Personnaly i would go for a Fiat Scudo or a midi size van. we have 2 connects 1.9 Tdci nippy and not to bad on deisl as we run prity well loaded app 320/340 on a tank 45/50L and thats with mainly short runs much better than prev escort/astra/fiesta www.AllanMoncrieffAlarms.com
Alarm Protection
The only problem i have is the high pitch whirling noise that comes from the ladders on the connect while with the astravan thee is no noise at all! !
