RickStevens Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 If Time lapse video recorder will record 24 hrs onto a 3 hr tape, will the time increase if I use a higher capacity tape? eg 4hr tape = 32 hrs, 5 hr tape 40 hrs Rick
Guest Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 They will chew the heads up as they deteriorate , why 3 hrs. are the norm and you get a time lapse with longer recording times. I have seen a tlvcr die in 6 weeks because they never rotated the tapes as shown, and remember the heads aint under warranty then if atall.
arfur mo Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 i'd be very wary using anything but CCTv designed E180 tapes, the longer versions tend to jam up, especially at any sign of humidity given the cost of a reasonable DVR i'd recommend an upgrade in that direction. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Guest Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I thought you weren't allowed to use anything but E180's due to the tension on the time lapse mech which feeds the tape in? Dave
