amateurandy Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Ha! So you can make backups! Thank you. You still need to read the licence to be sure. Plus some software has "protection" measures that mean backups are of limited value. Getting hold of software media is usually pretty easy; the most important thing to keep is usually the proof of purchase and any associated serial numbers or validation keys etc. ........
integrafire Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 There was a digital radio released that had a button on it. If you pressed the button during the song it would save it to the unit. No licence, no fee. How do they get around that then?
arfur mo Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Some years ago I held a licence from the Performers Rights Society which allowed me to record music from other sources including the radio... but only for personal use.I would be happy to buy a similar licence now that would permit me to download music, videos, Etc. from t'intenet.... but I don't think such a licence exists..... presumably because the record companies want to be able to rip us off with their extortionate prices! you still can, when i was asked to video a family wedding last year we sought permission from the rector, he said i had to get one which cost If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
