Scantronic wireless transmitting range

Anyone got an idea as to the transmitting range of the 715r PIR when used in conjunction with the 9955 wireless receiver/expander?

Obviously there will be limitations depending on the surrounding conditions, but I can't find anything on the manufacturers stated claims for reception in free space.

A vast amount depends on buildings and obstacles etc. We use this system if we have to but find they can go 30 meters indoors in some buildings and in other buildings only do 10meters. The best way to check the signal received is use the on board signal strenght indicator on the expander. It shows a reading of between 0 and 9 and even gives a green pass light if the system will work ok. You don't have to install the equipment you can just power up the expander on a battery just to try it to see what signals you get. The other way is do a site survey with a radio transmitter and receiver built for the frequency you are using.

I know its 2 months since you posting, but noticed it and thought this may help for the future:

The 9955 has been replaced by 9960eur08. It is a new design and incorperates twin antennea, which has the effect of doubling the range and reducing "dead spots". There is also a 16 (9960eur16) zone version vailable. Also the next range of transmitters is about to be launched, which will be 10mW as opposed to 1mW, again increasing range. Performance figures yet to be published. As the previous posting said though, always do a site test!
