Guest
JP mentioned bell times, no mention of links if you check. One reason i checked the bell timers available on the panel, however there is no option lower than 1 min. Righto.
fireyanth
Hi all Forgive me for being a little numb, but all this speak about links etc has me at a loss. Is there anything I can do at my end to sort the problem, or would you say it was an engineers job? With regards to who fitted it, it was a small company in Lancashire called 'STOUR' who have since been bought out by Initial Security who cannot even be bothered to give me a quote for a contract. Hence, I went to alot of effort to get the manual myself and learn about the system to help me when I first moved into the house last year. I needed more remote fobs, so I did the cheeky thing to return the panel to default settings so I could programme the panel myself (retaining the programming for the detectors too). I just hope I haven't done more harm than good. If there is nothing else to be done in the meantime, thanks very much for all your comments. Kind regards, Anthea
Guest
If you defaulted correctly the detectors will be there in the memory but all timers and settings will have changed. Unfortunately we cannot give out programming details, also we cannot tell you how to change the bell settings here in public. So i`m afraid you will need the services of an engineer. Eamonn
Check programing for cct 2. Might have been on part before, but if you defaulted system it may not be part set now. As for the 5 sec bell sound i would say the engineer test link in the bell is made, but again if this worked fine before and you have not been up to the bell it may be something different. Where abouts in west yorks are you? Hi there Not sure if all was OK before as we didn't really use the alarm to be able to find out if I am honest (we only had one remote fob and 2 of us live here, and keypad is not on the ground floor). When I was defaulting the system back a few months ago, I remember the alarm only sounding for 5 seconds when I disconnected the battery, but I though that was normal. I suppost it could be that is was never set up properly in the first place i.e. test link never removed. As for where we are, we are in sunny Huddersfield. Old Hand... I appreciate your suggestions, but I already have the programming info, and have tried altering the settings i.e. bell sounder times, and delay etc, but to no avail. I don't think you can have the bell sounding for anything less than 1 minute anyway. Thanks Anthea
fireyanth
Have you looked in the bell for a link, the link they are talking about is in the bell usually, but we would need to know what bell has been fitted to it to say for sure. Or can you take a good pic of it? Hi there I don't know for sure what make of bell it is. I have not been in the bell as I have no ladders to access it. It looks like one of the bell boxes in the following link http://www.elmdene.co.uk/products/DataShee...itec-Vertec.pdf It looks like the triangular shaped one. Can you tell I have been trawling the net trying to find the resolve to my problem??? Anthea
mjw
Sorry I'm abit slow... What do you mean by WD and engineer test link? W.D...warning device??
fireyanth
AntheaI doubt that you will get better advise than you have received here no matter how long you trawl the net. I agree with the previous posts: The likely problem is that a link needs cutting or moving in the external sounder. If you are unsure of, or unable to carry out this task.... you really should call in a professional engineer. Paul hint taken. I won't post any more messages about this subject. Besides, it's not that I cannot do it... yes I am unsure, but I thought that this was what forums were for??? Thanks to everyone who helped anyway. Your time was appreciated.
