Guest anguscanplay Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 why pick on arfur mo etc for their love of gardtec? have used it exclusivly for last 10 years even got them to rewrite some code for it never changed a faulty one yet
amateurandy Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 why pick on arfur mo etc for their love of gardtec? Nothing to do with his love life.... It's just Arfur; everyone picks on him. But he gives as good as he gets, and then some
Guest anguscanplay Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 arfur mo is it true that they used to test lacing by putting 240v to it and looking for the smoke or is my dear old dad (who says he taught me everything i know ) winding me up (i say he only taught me everything he knows)
Guest anguscanplay Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 any one reading the above should be aware that it was the foolish ramblings of a deranged engineer 240V CAN KILL AND SHOULD BE TREATED WITH GREAT RESPECT
Guest Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 240V CAN KILL AND SHOULD BE TREATED WITH GREAT RESPECT 12V can kill you aswell - just depends of the application..
Guest anguscanplay Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 quite right sir so lets see if we can get a diffinitive guide for the people reading the public forums in the event of you coming into contact with a cable bear in mind 240v AC the power to your system can be very dangerous and could kill you 12v DC the power to your movement sensors isnt 12v DC that makes the strobe flash in the outside box is very dangerous and will probably kill you
kka Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 is it not, current which kills? Kevin Scott. Owner of KK Alarms...... Installation .. Service .. Repair ...... Thoughout.. Northumberland and North Tyneside ..... Tel:01670 361948 (call diverted after 15 seconds) or 07947444114
Guest anguscanplay Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 thats like saying it isnt the fall that kills you its hitting the ground in the context of a public forum (where i foolishly mentioned an ancient test been carried out )it was easier to talk about the voltage however suprised that the mains issue isnt always posted for newcomers to see rather orwelian but mains bad alarm good exept flashing strobe light on sounder MY ADVISE IS NOT TO THINK ABOUT GOING NEAR 240V AC UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN PROVED COMPITENT
