Guest Lionel Hutz Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Hi, I have a scantronic 9800 alarm installed in a let property. It is showing the following message "Fault" "Service" & "5 r" Obviously it needs servicing but as we don't currently have a service contract does anyone know what the 5 r means so that I can tell the service engineer before they come out in case they need some parts. Also does anyone know of a good firm in the Abingdon/Oxford/Wantage area that doesn't charge enormous sums of money, but is reputable? I have managed to find two that would quote me but seems a lot of money! Thanks Gooners a good lad but if not call Carl Sam at Fortress. Lenny
arfur mo Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 hi all, SR will show if it needs a reset after an alarm or tamper, inserting a valid code may clear it if the tamper has cleared. a duff battery will be signalled even if not switched on, by a regular actioning of the internal siren from the speakers, and 'bF' desplayed on the keypad (one of the 1st panels to do a routine battery test). either way, nett result is a competant engineer is still required, just mention what panel it is, and agree a rate of charges before engaging one. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
