Guest anguscanplay Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Ok so I called out an engineer and they said the Alarm was too old to get parts for so they had to disable the alarm completly and offered to install me a new alarm. Is this true? I know it would be better to have a new alarm but really can't afford one with all the DIY that needs doing, is there anyway of getting it fixed or would that probably cost more than a new one? Thanks Sarah are they saying the control panel is faulty or the sytem any replacment parts will work with that panel and a new panel will work with any of the existing parts so unless the c/u is shot imho opinion they are fishing for a bigger job did they charge you to disconnect the system
SarahC Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 Hi, they couldn't tell me what was wrong with it as he didn't seem to know he just disconnected the system and charged me
arfur mo Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Hi, they couldn't tell me what was wrong with it as he didn't seem to know he just disconnected the system and charged me If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Adi Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I have no problem with his charge.... but he should have been able to test the system and give you a reasonably well detailed explanation of the faults and his overall view of the system and the components. Exactly And no it wasnt me. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

camerabloke Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 i dont think telling people would acheive much, we , as yet, dont know the full facts so it would not be proffessional to name the company involved. Eucam Security Systems 0845 4630 746 www.eucam.co.uk
arfur mo Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 i think if he is a member, and even if he acted to the highest professional standards, would he be keen to be put under the microscope and 'grilled' buy those who say and beleive they are the dogs nutts, but cannot prove they would have done any better, or prove to him that they are any better? and all to justify a massive profit of If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Guest anguscanplay Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 think its the time that we need more info from sarahc about this were they a regulated firm did they turn up on time how long were they on site did they take there ladders off how much tea did they drink ( important answer ) what exactly they said and did they leave a customer report did they say would have to charge but they would knock it off any more work when could they do the new work what did she really think of there ability to diagnose a fault how did she decide on them etc etc Edited out remark - Arthur
