Howsie Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Hi all, I've been a lurker on here for some time and have really been impressed with what I've read. I've decided to join up as I have a question of my own and would appreciate your views. As the topic title says, I'm looking for the 'right' choice of camera for a home install. I'm going to install and set this up myself with a view to getting it done professionally in a few years time when my requirements and pocket allow. My requirement is: 1) Monitor the front of the house, possibly from both sides (cam x2) in colour and at decent resolution. 2) A small (possibly dome?) camera in the door way to view watch the gentle post lady 3) Monitor the rear garden - both close proximity to the back of the house and the bottom of the garden (40m) The house has security lights front and back. I understand the GV-800 would could get the camera to 'follow' a subject but I'm not sure if I'm being a little over ambitious with my requirements. Audio would be a nice to have. Thanks in advance. PS. I realise this is a boring post to many of you and perhaps a case of "Not again", but I am really looking for some positive suggestions leaning on your experience in the field.
Howsie Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 Surly it wasn't that difficult a question - or perhaps it's been done to death? I have made use of the search button, honest.
TSionline Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Hi, heres a few cameras that may help you, however i should point out none of them come with Audio. 1) Monitor the front of the house, possibly from both sides (cam x2) in colour and at decent resolution. http://www.tsionline.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=CR402 2) A small (possibly dome?) camera in the door way to view watch the gentle post lady http://www.tsionline.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=CD301 3) Monitor the rear garden - both close proximity to the back of the house and the bottom of the garden (40m) http://www.tsionline.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=CR203 Also none of the above cameras will track objects, i would guess that to do this you would need a PTZ camera but the tracking part i presume is built into the software so therefor you would need to make sure they are compatible. but dont quote me on this. Good luck with your project James

baywatch Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I notice that some of the cameras that have been offered to you have very limited specs on the web links, also the dome camera is an indoor model. I would personally require much more detailed specs. We have found these domes ideal for domestic use. http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/dome_mini_armour.htm
