Jeff C Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Hello, There are 2 things that I am trying to do, and am wondering if anyone can offer advice. 1. I am trying to set up my doorbell to chime through the alarm system. Is this possible? How can it be done easily? 2. I would like to be able to assign my downstairs, upstairs, and outside detectors to seperate areas. I have three keypads and would like to enable arming with a no more than one or 2 keypresses. Is this possible? On 2 keypads the quick arm would arm all areas using the standard exit terminator (door contact). On the 3rd keypad, which is near the bedrooms, I would like to be able to arm downstairs and outside areas instantly (with no exit tone), and have them trigger an instant alarm (with no entry tones). Is this possible? Thanks in advance. Jeff
gooner31 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 why not just set up your exit terminator button to chime and use that as the door bell pete pete ................. Any comments/opinions posted are my own and not that of my employers.
Jeff C Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 what do you mean by outside areas Outside areas = Shed & Log Cabin. why not just set up your exit terminator button to chime and use that as the door bell pete Wouldnt that mean that I would have to press it everytime I left the house?
Guest anguscanplay Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Outside areas = Shed & Log Cabin. yeah realised managed to find the original post good luck with a reply
The Trautbec Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Forget the doorbell. If you can fit a Premier you can fit a doorbell (LOL) You can set up wards on a Premier 48 or above but not on the Prem 24. This is what you need. You prog. the keypad to a ward area. Just trying to do my job stuart@homeguardsecurity.co.uk
Jeff C Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 Can someone please explain how I can set up areas on my Texecom Premier 88. What I have... Premier 88 PIRs (Lounge, Hall, Office, Kitchen, Conservatory, Landing, Utility, WC, Bedrooms) Contacts (Front Door, Back Door, Side Door, Various Windows) Fire (various) Glass Break (various) Shock Sensors (various) For configuration I use Wintex via an IP Connection (as opposed to keypads) Areas... Area A: Lounge, Front Door, Lounge Windows Area B: Kitchen Area C: Conservatory Area D: Other Downstairs Areas Area E: Perimiter (Doors/Windows will be in this area as well as the individual areas such as lounge, kitchen, etc.) Area F: Upstairs Area G: Out-buildings (2 sheds) What I want.... When going out the entire house should be alarmed. The alarm should set with a 30 second exit timer. When going to bed, everything except upstairs should be alarmed. The alarm should set with no exit timer. What I get... I can only get my alarm to work with everything in 1 area. If I try to seperate everything into areas, either some sensors dont trigger an alarm, or when an alarm is triggered entering the code only disarms the one area. THe rest remain armed. Thanks in advance.
breff Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Dont bother with multiple areas , use the part sets. Assign everything to 1 Area, assign the zones you want off at night the part set 1 omitted attribute. Make sure your front door is programmed as Entry/exit 1, and your hall pir as Guard Access. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
alextheman Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 the use of realys is a good option seen as though you like to play with these kind of panels just use a output that will keep either a neg/pos during alarm set this will keep the zone closed in the period and in unset mode use the push button to power the relay then set the zone to alarm zone with chime this is a good option and seen as though you have fitted a premier you can have a good go at a realy lol but like The Trautbec has told you if you can fit a premier you can fit a door bell
