Hi All

If rg59 cable needs extending can you just add a male/female bnc connection in and extend it? I was told adding a 'join' in the cable reduces the video quality?

Thanks

You can join it that way, all joints introduce loss... :fear:

Chances are you will notice no difference.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

it is said that each join 'costs' one decibel, if colour above over 200 yards then might be an issue, if not doubt you will have a problem.

it's always best to use crimped connections not the wind on one's.
